These solutions worsen the already intolerable scaling problem.

The lightning network can provide privacy and ease the scaling problem, because transactions can be private because off chain, and should disappear into the bit bucket if everyone acts honorably and follows the protocol.

Unfortunately, the existing bitcoin lightning network is not all that private unless one takes unusual and attention attracting precautions, and is dangerously reliant on central authority.  These are problems that could be fixed, but they are not being fixed.
