Thought you people might want to know that I've ported TCFS to NetBSD.
I announced this on netbsd-users, but figured most people don't read that.

I'm in the process of integrating these changes more closely with NetBSD,
maybe even moving it into the main code base, but I can't reach the original
authors and I haven't looked into how the code is licensed. I assume NetBSD
will want the tools in their "proper" locations, too, instead of in
/usr/src/tcfs-utils-0_2/bin. Can someone put me in touch with someone
who can give me some guidance?

Anyway, it only modifies three files, and adds a file system and its related
mount command and one utility to flag the files as encrypted or not.
TCFS doesn't protect metadata like file names, but it does prevent reading
the file at all without the key. Even for root. And you can mix protected
and normal files on the same unmodified FFS/UFS file system.

I've done a survey of the various crypting file system tools, would anyone
be interested in a summary of available options?

Code is here: http://vaxn8.tripod.com/tcfs/tcfs.html
