If there is mutual trust -and- the entire chain is not being shared outside the trust circle, why is this different than any other bank? Wouldn’t they be  just saying “trust me” with some cryptocurrency pixie dust on top? 

Kinda like putting a statement at the end of your email that says "This email has been checked for viruses”? Oh wait...
