[Cryptography] Wi-fi spyware injection

Hello,

Today, 3 Turkish National Police Officers are taken into custody
because for "Injecting malware and or spyware to Turkish National
Police Intelligence IT Systems".
It's interesting.
It seems, they were using Galileo.
Wikileaks has published some e-mails on bargain of price of the
system, ~400,000 USD.
And since there are inner power struggles between groups in police
intelligence service, those crazies uploaded the malware to their own
servers!
Then I've read many things about Galileo.
Even their source code has been exposed on GitHub.

But one thing is very dangerous:
They can could inject the malware to any phone via wi-fi hacks:

Does someone knows about this?
Any protection methods etc?
