The date of the vulnerability discovery and email between interested
parties
might cloud the dates of this invention.

Since it would have been a security bug report there would be a closed
bug report invisible to casual searches.

As for something in Knuth any blackboard or white board presentation
in any university class or presentation deck at a technical convention
could
be the nut for a patent.   Rename the actions so text searches fail to
find a match.

Universities might do well do have presentation material escrowed
to allow searching for attribution shenanigans  is possible.

The renaming is something each generation of educators does anyhow.
New research on the same thing in three different schools will have unique
vocabulary
until such time that one dominates the literature (market)..
