I don't like it when people try to destroy the meaning of words like
that. I would guess that you think "Socialism" is bad so your find it
convenient to label anything you don't like with the word, regardless
of meaning.

Socialism is the collective ownership of the means of production so
that profits/losses flow to the collective and are distributed by a
political process, as opposed to capitalism where the means of
production are privately owned and the profits/losses flow to the
owners.

"dictating product specifications" is regulation.

Regardless of how much you like/dislike them, they really are not the
same. Typically, as to regulation, most people like some regulation
but not all. For example, most people support regulation of one sort
or another against murder and regulations defining property and who
owns what so that you can then have regulations against theft. Etc.

The remainder of your message was even more of a political rant, so I
won't bother responding to it.]
