We will have eight qbyte quantum computers long before we have eight kiloqbyte computers, and eight kiloqbyte computers long before we have sixty four kiloqbyte computers

When two kiloqbyte computers arrive on the scene, we will probably have thirty years to figure out what is actually quantum resistant, and likely another thirty years after that to spend unspent transaction outputs to a quantum resistant signature.

This is unlikely to be sudden. How has quantum factorisation been progressing?
