That wouldn't do it.  It's possible that the real Satoshi stored the keys on some device that is now sitting in an attic somewhere, but which might someday find its way into the hands of someone who is not Satoshi but who recognizes those keys for what they are.  This could happen any time, even many years hence.  It's even possible that the keys are held by some entity (possibly Satoshi, but who the hell knows?) who knows exactly what they are, but is keeping them in their hip pocket because they know that the longer they go unused the more valuable they become.

Dan Brown could have a field day.
