Most likely they got the list from his phone. But a quick look shows
that most (all?) also include Caroline Ellison, Gary Wang, Nishad
Singh, or Ryan Salame, all of whom have pled guilty and are
cooperating with prosecutors. It wouldn't be very hard to combine the
info from their phones.

I believe that during the trial someone said they turned off auto-delete
because they realized it looked bad and might be an additional violation
if they were told to preserve evidence.  No big surprise there.
