You are vastly overestimating maturity of physical security. :-). I can
absolutely assure you that locks are not mature. I can also absolutely
assure you that the mindset of physical security people is crap tacular. To
them, once you install it it's done. Until you replace the door. I am not
joking there are 100-year-old blocks still being used in active duty at
financial institutions today.
Check out lockpicking lawyer if you really really really want to have a fun
time showing how immature physical security is. Encryption done properly,
will actually stop people from seeing and getting at your plain text.
Physical security is 99% of the time to keep honest people honest. It's a
delay tactic it's not a secure tactic
