A successful currency has to be fungible.  The trouble with fiat money is that it is becoming less and less fungible, as those attempting to bail out Kyle Rittenhouse discovered to their very great cost.

Fungibility requires a large part of Eric Hughes manifesto.

And it requires the parties to be able to communicate about money in a way that is private but which they can provably make public, because if they cannot prove and make public payment *for* something, it is a big problem, but if other people can prove they paid *for* something, we are going to lose fungibility.

Which requires the rest of Eric Hughes manifesto.

There is no alternative.  A government friendly crypto currency will fail, because though it may be friendly to the government, the government is not friendly to it.
