This camera thing seems productive and innocent. However I recall sitting
next to the
neighbors Grandmother and as a lame 9 year old asked... "Mrs, Z what
is that" and pointed at the numbers tattooed on her arm.

The current affection for cameras is in part a result of social pressure
to not get involved and to not rat out those in the same social economic
block....or undocumented individuals. In part this is a side effect of
the war
on drugs and bigoted law and law enforcement.

We almost learned our lesson with prohibition...

My current bias is for more cameras in the hands of the public to balance
the abuses
by those in power. We see this in eastern europe where cameras in
vehicles are
a personal defense against accidents caused by criminals to extract
insurance
and other criminal actions.

The risk of abuses has been well discussed.
The surveillance problems must be balanced with defenses
including laws to address the abuses. Abuses that seem encoded
in "departmental policy and procedure".

Beyond crypto signatures and anti tampering methods I am
not sure where crypto applies here.
