[Cryptography] Cascaded encryption

So, just to make sure I understand:
(1) The product of a cascaded cipher is at least as strong as the 1st cipher in the cascade; &
(2) The product is as least as strong as the weakest cipher in the cascade; &
(3) There had bloody well be three of them in a row; &
(4) After that, the strength of the strongest governs.
Is that about the state of the art at the moment?
