BTW, there have been papers about persistance in semiconductor
memories, too.  Ie, you store the same key for a long time
in a memory, and later on someone can (by subtle analog probing)
detect differences in the memory cells.  Electromigration, 
tunneling, stress on dielectrics, you're a physicist, I'm not
going to explain it to you :-)
