liberties," Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick J. Leahy
(D-Vt.) told Ashcroft in a meeting Wednesday.

"That's okay, Pat, we've been reading your e-mails all week," Ashcroft
deadpanned.

Leahy erupted in laughter, disarmed.
