I assume that isn't the intention. There was evidence that the
Americans had demands and talking points like this already written
up waiting for the next terrorist incident and they trotted them out
after the French attacks ... only to find the attackers hadn't used
encryption at all.<br>

This (and the snooper's charter they finally got passed) is because
hiding stuff from the government is unacceptable to Rudd, as stated;
this attack is just a hook to hang the demand onto.<br>
