What's the policy concerning patents and RFC's? OCB is patented, though with a bunch of exceptions http://www.cs.ucdavis.edu/~rogaway/ocb/license.htm There's not (so far?) any exception related to implementing an RFC as such (though there is a FRAND promise on that page).
